Adult Formation Lecture Series: Suffering & the God of Love
Wednesday, August 6, Seton Hall, 7 PM- 8 PM
Presenter: Rev. Ken Wasilewski, Dir. of Permanent Diaconate & Diocesan Medical Ethicist
Learn about redemptive suffering, the Catholic belief that human suffering, when accepted and offered up in union with the Passion of Jesus, can remit just punishment for one's own sins, the sins of another, other physical or spiritual needs of oneself or another. Forgiveness is from God’s grace, freely given through Christ, which cannot be earned. After our sins are forgiven, our suffering can reduce the penalty due for sin. By God’s grace we can be  made partners in the paschal mystery.

Catholicism- a DVD series featuring Fr. Robert Barron,
Wednesday Evenings starting August 27 through October 29
This is an incredible opportunity to learn about and grow in your faith with fellow parishioners.
This groundbreaking program, created by Fr. Robert Barron, is a thematic presentation of what Catholics believe and why, designed to help adults come to a deeper understanding of the Catholic Faith. Not a video lecture, Church history or scripture study, this engaging, interesting formational program uses the art, architecture, literature, music and all the treasures of the Catholic tradition to illuminate the timeless teachings of the Church. The CATHOLICISM Study Program presents the strong, ecclesial dimension of the Catholic Faith – God’s revelation through Jesus Christ and His Church. It is comprehensive and faithful. More details will be provided in an upcoming bulletin. In the meantime, visit catholicismseries.com/watch to learn more about this program
