St. Peter is a Roman Catholic Parish in the city of Geneva and
part of the Aurora Deanery which is under the Rockford Diocese under
the Most Reverend Thomas G. Doran, D.D., J.C.D. We are the parish
home for a vibrant faith-filled community of more than 3000 families,
many of whom have worshipped and learned as part of the St. Peter
community for generations. While these parish families represent
a strong, continuous thread in our parish history, new individuals
and families are welcomed and encouraged to join our parish community
as we serve the Lord through worship and prayer, service to others
and social activities. Our parish community adheres to traditional
Catholic practices and is known for its rich liturgical celebrations
and devotion to the Sacraments, particularly the Eucharist. The
Blessed Sacrament receives special reverence through our Perpetual
Adoration program initiated in October 2003. There are many opportunities
to serve and be served within this parish home. We sponsor over
60 ministries and organizations that help the church community or
local community in a variety of ways. You can learn about them on
the Ministries
and Organizations webpages.
All are welcome at St. Peter Parish. Most of our parish families
reside in Geneva, but we have also attracted singles and families
from many other communities. We ask that our parishioners become
an active part of our parish through participation in worship, spiritual
growth activities, service to others and financial support.
We have 2 priests in residence responsible for our parish,
Fr. Martins Emeh, JCL (Pastor) and Fr. Michael Chernetzki (Parochial
Vicar). Mike Zibrun and Mike Sullivan are permanent Deacons serving
our parish, helping out with Baptisms, some marriage matters, prayer
services, special blessings, assisting at Masses, ministering to parishioners
and more.
Delnor Community Hospital is within our parish boundaries.
We are primarily responsible for pastoral care of all Catholic patients
during their stay in the hospital. This is also the case for Provena
Geneva Care Center and Arden Courts. We are blessed with help from
neighboring priests and pastoral care ministers who graciously assist
us in these areas when they are able or when we need back-up.
Our parish, most importantly, is one made up of God’s
children. One’s age, gender and role in life have meaning because
of our faith, hope and love for one another, our community and the
world around us.

Parish Vision Statement
Our vision for our faith community is that everyone has fallen
head over heels in love with God, who is Father, Son and Holy
Spirit! And that this tremendous love will grow as we seek God's
grace in our lives through worship, community, and service.
In pursuing our vision, we fulfill our mission and expand God's
Kingdom on earth.

Parish Mission Statement
We, the people of Saint Peter Parish, guided by the Holy Spirit,
are called to celebrate life in a community of faith, growth
and compassion.
This community fosters individual growth in our Catholic faith
through: reflecting on His Word, encountering Jesus in the breaking
of the Bread, praying, and servicing one another.
This parish fosters community by continuing to provide supportive
activities that will enable each of us an opportunity to grow
in knowledge of our faith, in unity as a loving Christian family
and to demonstrate our Catholic faith in the world for the greater
honor and glory of God.
". . . I will be a witness to you in the world, O Lord.
I will spread the knowledge of your name among my brothers and
sisters. . ."
Psalms 18 and 22
