Known as one of the most popular parts of the High School Youth Ministry Programming, retreats give students the opportunity to get away from the craziness of life for a while to think, pray, talk, and make new friends while developing their relationship with God. "When I went on the retreat I could see how God had impacted other people my age. I heard stories that I could relate to and understood. I felt like they wanted met o make my mistakes and learn from them instead of feeling bad of what I wasn’t doing or was doing. At night I pray all the time and I couldn’t see the affect God had on my life, but with the retreat I could see what he had done for others.” “I attended the fall retreat last year and really enjoyed it. When I returned home, I remember hugging my dad and my eyes started to water. I learned much about myself on that two-day retreat.” “The retreat was a great opportunity to self-reflect. I think that it is easy to get caught up in less important things. The retreat allowed me to realize and fix that. I think it brought me closer to God. Also, I met many people and became closer with some old friends. It was a great experience.” While many students attend these retreats as part of their Confirmation formation, they are not “about” Confirmation. Therefore, they are open to all high school students and we have many students who attend more than one throughout their high school career.
