It is important for every teen to invest in opportunities that challenge them as an individual to dig deeper and develop a more intimate experience of Jesus Christ. These opportunities for personal growth range from Faith-Sharing Small Groups and Steubenville Youth Conferences to the Summer Challenge.

Steubenville Youth Conferences
Each summer the high school youth program participates a summer youth conference. These national conferences have been held for over 30 years at Franciscan University in Ohio, as well as other satellite locations, ministering the message of God's love to teens across the country. Steubenville weekends are filled with great music, energetic speakers, dynamic skits, and lots of time for personal and group interaction. The primary goal of the conference is to evangelize youth with the Gospel message of Jesus Christ and to deal with the many challenging aspects of their lives according to the teachings of Holy Scripture and Church Tradition. Its main objective is to encourage and strengthen teens by teaching them how they can live in the peace of Christ in this day and age. Time and time again, teens who attend a summer Steubenville Conference site it as one of the most impacting and powerful experiences in their faith journey bar none!

An informational meeting for students and parents
for our upcoming Summer 2012 Steubenville trip is scheduled for
Tuesday, December 6, 2011 from 6:30 – 7:00 PM in the Teen Center
(lower level).

Summer Challenge
During the summer months, high school youth are invited to embark on an exciting and private journey and there are no meetings to attend. This personal adventure is between each teen and our Heavenly Father. Students who sign up to participate in the summer challenge will receive a weekly email or Facebook Message that will help encourage and inspire them to grow closer to God throughout the summer. Sometimes the messages will teach a topic. Other times they will suggest a course of action. Some may even refer to resources on the internet you never even knew existed! There is no right way or wrong way to do the challenge. The important thing is to make the effort. Persevere throughout the summer, giving God a chance to speak to your heart, and He WILL!

Sign up for the Summer challenge 2012 beginning in May 2013.
Stay tuned for more information in the Spring.

Faith-Sharing Small Groups
There is nothing like a small group experience to keep the fire of your faith going! Faith-sharing groups nurture the love of Christ in a Christian community. Over the years the high school program has hosted a myriad of small group opportunities to enhance the faith lives of our teens, from The Word Bible Study to participation in the Why Catholic program, “Encounters,” and most recently the T3 Timeline Teen Bible Study during the summer 2011. Our Program has also used specific liturgical seasons in the Church (i.e. Advent, Lent) as the backdrop for several small group experiences.

Our next small group ministry opportunity is coming up:

Theology of the Body for Teens
June 2012 – August 2012
12-week summer series

For more information regarding sign up for this small group opportunity next summer, stay tuned in to the parish bulletin in the spring 2012.
