Mass Ministries
We are always looking for help at Mass. Whether you want to lector, become and sacristan, or help out with Baptisms after Mass we would love to have you!
There is a Ministry for All at Mass.
Altar Servers
Altar servers assist the priest in celebrating Mass and other devotions. Boys and girls who are 5th grade and up can become altar servers. High school students are also encouraged to be part of this ministry.
Training is provided.
Commitment: Usually 1-2 times a month.
Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion
Extraordinary Ministers of Communion assist the priest during Mass with the reception of Holy Communion. Ministers must be fully initiated Catholics (have received the sacraments of Baptism, First Communion, and Confirmation) and if they are married their marriage has been celebrated in a Catholic Church.
Commitment: Ministers are able to choose the Mass times and dates that best fit their schedule.
Training is provided.
Lectors
The lectors are a group of dedicated volunteers who proclaim the scripture readings at our weekend and weekday Masses. Training is provided so that volunteers are equipped to proclaim the Word of God in an effective manner.
Commitment: Lectors are able to choose the Mass times and dates that best fit their schedule. Training is provided.
Sacristan
These ministers arrive early for Mass and help set up for the Eucharistic celebration. They make sure all the liturgical ministers are present, set up the altar, prepare the gifts of bread and wine, and attend to any special needs for a given celebration.
Commitment: Sacristans are able to choose the Mass times and dates that best fit their schedule.
Training is provided.
Mass Steward
Greet parishioners as they come into Mass and be available for new families and those with questions before, during and after Mass.
Training is provided

Outside of Mass Ministries.
Ministry to the Homebound
For anyone who is hospitalized, homebound or in a nursing home and unable to come to Mass, we need a dedicated team of volunteers who gladly make it a priority to visit. We want to help members stay connected to our St. Peter family of faith and especially the Eucharist, the source and summit of our Christian lives!
Commitment: Various assignments to nursing homes. Days and times TBD. Training is provided.
Baptism Ministry
We have many parishioners who assist at baptism liturgies as we welcome children in the Church through the sacrament of new life.
Commitment: Volunteers usually serve once every other month. Training will be provided.
