About Us
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is a Catholic lay organization inspired by Gospel
values. We bring people together to grow in faith and friendship while serving those
who are suffering or in need, following the example of our founder, Blessed Frédéric
Ozanam, and our patron, St. Vincent de Paul.
Founded in Paris in 1833, the Society has become a worldwide community of more
than 800,000 lay Catholics—called Vincentians—who serve through parish-based
groups known as conferences.
Our St. Peter Geneva SVDP Conference is committed to helping parishioners and
Geneva residents facing hardship. Our Vincentians give their time, talents, and
resources to offer compassionate support and hope to local neighbors in need,
regardless of religion, ethnicity, or social background.
Through personal home visits, we assist with short-term emergency needs such as:
Housing and rent assistance
Utility bills
Car repairs
Food, clothing and gas
Medical and Dental
Referrals to other community services
If You or Someone You Know Needs Help
Our local St Vincent de Paul (SVDP) conference serves parishioners of St. Peter or residents of Geneva. If you have questions or need assistance,
please call our hotline: 630-232-0124 Extension 310.
Someone should contact you within 24-48 hours during weekdays, usually in the evening.
For those who live elsewhere in Kane and DeKalb Counties, other SVDP Conferences may be able to assist. Click the link below to find a conference near you

Come learn about:
- Home visits and helping neighbors struggling with economic & other needs.
- How we grow together through spiritual reflection & faith sharing.
- How we discuss and vote on all matters, especially on how money is spent.
- How we obtain funds and work with other resources in the community.
- How members choose to help by taking hotline calls, making home visits,
bookkeeping, fundraising, interpreting, helping with data, finding community
resources, or posting bulletin articles.
